NewPrompt Changelog

This page publicly documents changes made to the platform.

2026-09-01

  • The sign-in button on the login page now submits the form again; it previously did nothing when clicked.
  • Moving the last open prompt down in a project now wraps it to the top of the list.
  • Buttons that trigger Livewire actions now show a targeted loading state and prevent duplicate submissions while the action is running.

2026-08-31

  • Project workspace prompt rows now show the number of comments in their metadata when a discussion exists.
  • The Done and Discarded buttons in project workspaces now disable themselves and show a spinner while their status change is being processed.
  • Copy buttons now keep the same width when their label changes to the copied confirmation.

2026-08-29

  • The Projects counter in the signed-in navigation now refreshes its open-prompt total every three minutes.

2026-08-28

  • Untitled prompts in collection and project lists now use the same typography and text color as regular prompt titles while still showing their prompt text directly.
  • The MCP server now offers a get_activity tool that returns the same daily prompt counts the activity heatmap draws. It reports the trailing 365 days by default, accepts any window from 1 to 731 days, and covers all of the caller's own prompts unless a project is named, in which case it counts the entries that reached that project and additionally requires the project read permission. Days without activity are left out unless they are asked for, and the answer also carries the total, the number of active days, and the busiest day.

2026-08-27

  • Prompt pages now have comments: signed-in readers can post Markdown comments, each comment can be copied, authors can remove their own comments, and prompt or project owners can moderate the discussion. Secret share links display comments and let signed-in visitors join.
  • Project workspace prompt lists no longer offer a delete button; deletion remains available from the prompt's own page, where the delete section no longer suggests that project prompts can be archived.
  • Project prompts are now independent project-owned copies. Copies retain their source for later refreshes, existing project entries are migrated automatically, and project prompt pages lead with the project title.
  • Error pages such as "page not found" and "something went wrong" now use the ordinary page design and keep the header and footer navigation, so it is always one click from an error back to the start page, Discover, or search. Each page names the problem in plain language in the interface language; codes without a page of their own show a general message.
  • The "Open" button on discarded prompts in project workspaces now carries the same reply arrow icon that reopening a done prompt already showed.
  • Shortened prompt texts in collections and project workspaces now reveal themselves in full on hover or keyboard focus. The full text appears on the very pixel the shortened one started on, on a panel with a background and a border that grows downwards over the entries below without moving them. Clicking it still opens the prompt, selecting the text still works, and a text too long for the screen scrolls inside the panel. Touch devices keep the shortened text, which they could never hover away again. The whole text is now always on the page, so screen readers and the browser's page search find all of it instead of the first 160 characters.

2026-08-26

  • Public profiles, project workspaces and your own prompt list now show a contribution heatmap of the past year. The personal grid, identical on your profile and above your archive under My prompts, counts every prompt you created, whatever its visibility, including archived ones and those written inside a project, so the amount of activity is visible even though private and unlisted prompts themselves are not. The project grid counts every prompt that reached the project, whether it was written there or imported from a collection. The grid always fits the width available to it and never scrolls sideways; month and weekday names appear once there is room for them. Hovering a square shows how many prompts it stands for, and on which day, in a tooltip above it.
  • The "When to apply" section on a prompt page now has a small icon-only button at its top right that copies that section's text to the clipboard.

2026-08-25

  • Untitled prompts in project and collection lists no longer repeat their text as a generated heading; their visible text now links directly to the prompt when it is accessible.
  • Search now covers collections and projects alongside prompts. The header search field shows the top matches per kind while typing and links to the full result set, which Enter opens directly. The search screen adds tabs for All, Prompts, Collections, and Projects: the combined view lists the closest collections and projects above the prompt results, and each tab shows the complete, paginated list of its kind. Collections and projects match on their name and their context or briefing text, tolerate a typo in the name, and never appear to anyone who cannot already open them; archived projects stay out of the results.
  • Done prompts in project workspaces now show shortened text and reveal the complete text on hover or keyboard focus, matching Collections.
  • My prompts now links single collection and project assignments directly; multiple assignments link to their overview and reveal all assigned names in a tooltip.
  • The done and discarded prompt lists in project workspaces are now paginated independently with ten prompts per page; discarded prompts are ordered by discard time, newest first, and only offer reopening.
  • Done prompts in project workspaces are now sorted by completion time, newest first.
  • The signed-in navigation now orders Collection, Projects, My prompts, and the new-prompt button from left to right; Collection no longer shows a prompt count, while Projects shows the open prompts across every accessible project.
  • New prompts created outside a project can now be assigned to an active accessible project directly in the creation form.
  • Project workspaces now offer an unboxed "Add new prompt" quick text-only form beneath the open list, with an option to continue the draft in the full creation form.
  • Project pages now use readable URLs containing the owner's username and the project name, followed by a stable short identifier; existing project links redirect to the new address.
  • Project lists and workspace sidebars now count only open prompts for each project.
  • The project briefing now appears below the prompt lists in the project workspace.
  • Project settings in the project workspace are now grouped in a collapsible section that stays open during updates.
  • Collections can now only be shared for reading; individual write access has been removed.
  • Every prompt in a project's done list now shows a check mark and the date when it was marked as done.
  • Prompts in a project's done and discarded lists no longer offer sorting controls.
  • Sorting controls in project workspaces now sit beside each prompt title, matching their placement in Collections.
  • Project workspaces no longer show a remove button for imported prompts; done prompts now offer only a reply-style action to move them back to open.
  • Every prompt in a project's open list now has a copy button for its pinned content.
  • Collections no longer offer a project context input, and the "Copy to project" section now appears below the prompt list.
  • The "Copy to project" section now stays open while switching between creating a new project and importing into an existing one.
  • Saving a prompt no longer triggers the unsaved-changes warning; an unsuccessful save keeps the warning active.
  • Prompt titles in project workspaces now link directly to their prompt pages, replacing the separate view and edit buttons.
  • Projects now provide private collaborative workspaces where members can create and jointly develop version-pinned prompts, track them as open, done, or discarded, and import active entries from any readable collection; matching MCP permissions and tools support the same workflow, the username needed to add a member is clearly marked as required, and individual prompts can now be saved to projects from their prompt page instead of from inside the workspace.
  • "My prompts" no longer offers a sort order choice and always lists prompts by most recently edited.
  • On narrow screens the collections page now shows the list of collections as a single dropdown above the open collection, instead of the full sidebar lists.
  • A prompt's own page now offers archiving and deleting at the bottom, for its owner only. Archiving removes the prompt from collections but preserves its pinned copies in assigned projects, hides its standalone page, and can be undone under "My prompts"; deleting removes it from collections and projects and cannot be undone. Both ask for confirmation and return to "My prompts".

2026-08-21

  • Lists can now be duplicated from their settings, including their project context, prompt order, active state, and pinned prompt versions.
  • Collections can now be private, shared by link, or public; public collections appear on their owner's profile.
  • Accounts now use unique usernames, which can be used alongside email addresses to sign in.

2026-08-20

  • MCP tools now identify a collection by the same random identifier the collection page uses, instead of a countable number. Every collection tool expects that identifier as collection_id and returns it as the collection's id; numeric identifiers from earlier connections no longer resolve.

2026-08-19

  • The prompt page can now switch its content between a Markdown view (the default) and a Raw view showing the text exactly as it was written; the choice is remembered on the device.
  • Headings inside prompt text now start one level below the page's own headings, so a prompt page has a single top-level heading and a heading outline that matches what it is about. Links written by users are marked as user-generated, and public prompt pages now carry machine-readable data naming the member who wrote the prompt.
  • The footer link to the MCP setup page is now labelled simply "MCP".
  • The footer now links to the imprint and privacy policy on develate.com; both open in a new tab.
  • Collections now show prompt previews: hovering or keyboard-focusing an entry in a collection opens a floating panel with its full text, without shifting the list underneath.
  • Collection entries only mention their pinned version when a newer version of the prompt exists; up-to-date entries stay uncluttered.
  • Collection lists are sorted by most recent activity, and adding or reordering entries counts as activity. Adding a prompt with one click still goes to the oldest collection.
  • The collection page addresses a list by a random identifier instead of a countable number, and opening the page without one now shows the most recently used list. Older list addresses no longer resolve.

2026-08-18

  • Added OAuth-protected MCP access for prompt search, creating private and unlisted prompts, and managing personal collections; a setup page linked in the footer explains connection, permissions, and revocation.
  • Made prompt titles optional; without a custom title, lists, views, collections, and version histories display an 80-character excerpt of the prompt text.
  • Added a public platform changelog at /changes.
